Christine Simpson grew up watching her two brothers play hockey from a young age where her love for hockey began.
Christine had been a Marketing Manager at the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto, combining her love for hockey and connection to the game. As the media spokesperson for the HHOF, on air opportunities continued to arise as she gained television experience in her career. Christine was then hired as the first in-arena game host for the Toronto Maple Leafs becoming the first female voice at Maple Leaf Gardens.
Prior to the launch of CTV Sportsnet (later becoming Rogers Sportsnet) in1998, Simpson assembled a VHS tape of her experience and landed her first broadcasting job as a Sportsnet reporter profiling the NHL’s top players and personalities as well as hosting Showtime with Chris Simpson, featuring entertainment and sport stories.
Chris has been a rink side reporter for NHL broadcasts with ABC, ESPN & Versus in the US and was host of the show “Captains” on the NHL Network. She was the host of Centre Ice with Christine Simpson during the 2010 Winter Olympics at Molson Canadian Hockey House in Vancouver. Most recently, Simpson is recognized for her work as a Sportsnet features reporter and the host of The Big Picture, along with being a rinkside host for the NHL on Sportsnet and Hockey Night in Canada.
